Most new patients begin with a New Patient Assessment, where Dr. Leo evaluates your concerns and determines whether chiropractic care may be appropriate for your situation.
No referral is required.
The goal of the first two visits is to carefully assess your condition before any long-term recommendations are made.
If chiropractic care is appropriate for your case, Dr. Leo will explain the findings and discuss the recommended care plan so you can decide whether you would like to proceed.
BEFORE YOUR FIRST VISIT
After booking your initial consultation, you will receive an email confirmation with a link to your online health history form.
Please complete this form as soon as possible to confirm your appointment. Most patients require approximately 20 minutes to complete the questionnaire.
Dr. Leo reviews your health history prior to your visit so your consultation can begin with a clear understanding of your concerns.
If the electronic forms are not accessible to you, please let us know and we will provide an alternative option.
STEP 1 – INITIAL ASSESSMENT
Your first visit begins with a consultation to understand your health history and current concerns. Following this discussion, Dr. Leo performs the focused spinal and posture examination.
Dr. Leo assesses spinal alignment, movement patterns, and other factors that may be contributing to your symptoms.
The examination includes:
- A focused spinal and posture examination
- Assessment of spinal alignment and structural stress
- Evaluation of factors that may contribute to issues such as neck pain, lower back pain, headaches, and sciatica
If clinically appropriate, Dr. Leo may refer you to a local imaging clinic for spinal x-rays.

Many patients we see work in nearby office towers and spend long hours at a desk, which can influence posture and spinal strain patterns. Many find that the examination provides the first clear explanation of what may be contributing to their symptoms.
This visit is focused on gathering information so that recommendations can be based on objective findings rather than symptoms alone.

STEP 2 – REPORT OF FINDINGS
Your next appointment is the Doctor’s Report. During this visit, Dr. Leo reviews your examination findings and explains what they mean for your health and care options.
The visit begins with a short educational presentation where Dr. Leo explains:
- How posture and spinal movement patterns can influence stress on the body
- How chiropractic adjustments work to restore proper movement and nervous system function
- Research related to posture, spinal health, and chiropractic care
After this overview, Dr. Leo meets with you privately to review your individual findings. During this discussion he will explain:
- What was discovered during your examination
- How these findings relate to your symptoms or concerns
- Whether chiropractic care is likely to help in your situation
- Recommendations tailored specifically to your case
You will have the opportunity to ask questions and decide whether this approach feels right for you.
If chiropractic care is recommended and you choose to proceed, your first chiropractic adjustment typically begins at this visit.
Recommendations are based on your examination findings and your individual presentation, rather than a standard or pre-set approach.
Your first visits are designed to provide clarity. Our goal is to understand your spine, explain what we find, and help you decide whether chiropractic care is the right next step.
If you’re ready to begin, you can book an initial consultation with our downtown Toronto clinic.

STEP 3 – CORRECTIVE CARE
If you decide to begin care, your visits focus on improving spinal movement, reducing stress on the nervous system, and supporting long-term structural change.
Care is typically structured and may include:
- Chiropractic adjustments
- Targeted mobility or posture exercises when appropriate
- Periodic reassessment to track changes in spinal movement and function
Care recommendations and frequency are based on your individual findings and how your body responds over time. The duration of care varies depending on your findings and your response to care.
Progress is evaluated over time to determine how your body is responding and whether any adjustments to your care plan are needed. Because structural and postural changes develop over time, meaningful improvement typically occurs through consistent care rather than isolated visits.
